Knitting

When in Scotland I knitted a Aran hooded cardigan for my grand-daughter,and it made me think not many people have hand knitted jumpers, cardigans etc, not everyone likes them but I think they are something special, someone has taken there time to produce the knitted item, usually a mum or gran and this is done with love and care, and pride in the finished article.
I just wonder how many people nowadays know how to knit, we were taught at school so everyone my age at my school anyway can knit whether they still do is a mystery.
So I thought I would start a poll to find out.
I have included a picture of the cardigan.
