Tip of the Week


Using store cupboard ingredients.

1.Cleaning burnt on food off of pans.
Leave to soak in a mixture of vinegar and bicarbonate of soda, for a few hours and you should be able to wipe clean.

2.Prevent avocados from turning black.
If you only want to use half the avocado, dip the other half in lemon juice and cover tightly in foil, put in fridge until needed should last 2 to 3 days.

3.Clean and sterilize your chopping board.
Rub with a half a lemon, this will dispel any leftover odours.

4.Clean tea stains on mugs.
Put salt on to moist cloth and rub inside of mug.

5.Cleaning brass candle sticks or ornaments.
Use tomato ketchup, put on damp cloth and rub gently, then rise off with clean water.

6.Cleaning the fridge.
Salt and soda water will clean and freshen the inside of your fridge, and because this mixture is naturally nonabrasive, it is safe to use on easily scratch-able surfaces like the inside of the fridge.

7.Natural Air Freshener.
You can make your own natural and inexpensive air freshener with table salt and oranges or lemons.Cut an orange or lemon in half,remove the pulp,and fill the peel with salt. It provides a pleasant, aromatic scent.

8.Clean lime scale off of taps.
Use vinegar. If you can remove taps soak in vinegar overnight then wash with clean water, if you cannot remove heads,like shower head fill a plastic bag with vinegar and tie around tap leave overnight.Taps should be left gleaming.
