Tip of the week

Lavender Oil

Lavender oil has been the most popular essential oil for centuries. I remember my gran using dried lavender in bags in her linen drawers, I have dried lavender and used it in potpourri.

The essential oil has many uses

Skin – sunburn, bruises, insect bites, cuts.
circulation – muscle aches and pains.
nervous system – stress headache, insomnia.

You can put a few drops on a handkerchief or a piece of kitchen roll and slip it into you pillowcase for a relaxing nights sleep.

Lavender oil is one of the essential oils that you can put directly onto your skin. Very effective for minor burns.

Tip of the week

This recipe I found really good to help dry or rough skin on hands or feet. I usually use tea tree essential oil , for to help heal any abrasions, cuts etc, and use either rose or lavender oil because I like the fragrance, but you can use what you like.

Foot and Hand Care

2 tablespoons rock salt
a few drops of olive oil
5 0r 6 drops of essential oil (optional)

1. Put the ingredients into an opaque container and mix well.
2. For hands it is best to do this at the sink, moisten hands pour about 1/2 teaspoonful of mixture into hands and rub hands together for a few minutes.
For feet I find it easier over a basin of water.
3. Rinse hands under running water.
Rinse feet in basin.
4. Pat dry.
Your skin should feel smooth and soft now.
