A calima sunset in Tenerife

Today we have a Calima it is caused by a duststorm that is stirred up by high winds in the Sahara and is then driven over the Canary Islands by south easterly winds.

This caused an unusual sunset, in fact it looked like the moon rather than the sun.

Sunsets in Tenerife

I just love the vivid colours in these pictures, hope you enjoy. Seems like sometimes I am obsessed with sunsets, watching out every evening to see if I can capture some more colourful photos.

At the moment the sun is setting behind La Gomera ( a smaller canarian island, which we can see from our balcony )
